I’m in a writing mood, and I want it to be positive. I remember my first lecture of my degree being on gratitude, and how it is deemed to be the root to one’s happiness. Take a look!

So in light of this, I thought I’d write a list of the things whether inanimate or animate, that I’m grateful for. It could be anything, and I encourage you to do the same!

  • Self-love and self-care
  • Being given a chance
  • Honesty, and honest people

  • Consistency
  • Routine
  • Bravery
  • Courage


This isn’t exhaustive and although brief, it has been nice to reflect on the things in life that we don’t give enough attention, or just gratitude in itself isn’t acknowleded enough sometimes.



  1. I try to thank God for five things (minimum) every day. It’s hard, though. Obviously when the depression (and, lately, anxiety) are bad, it’s hard to see any good, but even on boring days, it’s hard to find things to be thankful for when everything just seems OK. I guess it can become a bit repetitive. Maybe I should look for some new things every day in the five.


    1. Perhaps it’s about reminding yourself of something to be grateful for every once in a while – it doesn’t have to be every day. And gratitude doesn’t have to lead to happiness, sometimes just an awareness and an appreciation of those things can be something, even if they don’t make you happy by acknowledging them.
